A roof tent for your Land Rover Defender 110
What fits, what your Defender 110 can carry, and how the tent mounts. This is a guide, not engineering advice: your handbook and your rack maker's instructions come first.

Which size
Max. The 110 has a long roof, so the Max (188 cm closed) fits with room to spare, and it sleeps two adults and two children.
- The Max: £1,999, sleeps 2 adults + 2 children, 188 × 123 cm closed
What the roof can carry
| On the move (dynamic) | up to 168 kg |
| Parked (static) | up to 300 kg |
| Our tents | the Max 54 kg, plus 5 kg for the ladder |
Land Rover's figure for the 110. Some versions carry less, and Land Rover says V8 models have no dynamic roof rating, so check the handbook for your car. The tent, its mount and anything else on the roof all count towards the limit.
How it mounts
This is our own car. The Defender's roof rails have a slot along each rail. The mount is four thin brackets, two on each rail, bolted into those slots, and the tent bolts to the brackets. There are no cross bars. These are standard brackets we can reuse, so there is no one-off bracket charge.
Height
On our Defender the top of the closed tent sits roughly 20 cm above the roof. That is our estimate from photos; measure your own car once the tent is on. Check your garage and the car parks you use.
Check your own car
Tell our assistant who is sleeping, your car and its roof load, or add a photo of the handbook page. You get a preliminary answer straight away, and we confirm before you pay anything more than the £99 refundable deposit.
